Janet Taisey Craft
(Choreographer & Artistic director) is the founder of The Ipswich Moving Company. Her choreography has been presented in the US, the Netherlands, the former Soviet Union, and twice at the International Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. Her choreography has received recognition from the Massachusetts Artist Foundation and the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Janet was the Head of Dance at Emerson College for twenty-four years. She created her first aerial dance in 1986 and has continued to define and refine her unique form of aerial dance. In 2008, Janet joined the dance faculty at Perry Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp in Steamboat Springs, CO. where she created new aerial works for five summers. Recent full evening work includes: Ground, premiered in Ipswich in 2012 and performed in Boston in 2013; Here & Now, an intergenerational ensemble of dancers who created and performed original works in Ipswich in 2014; and Look, Look Again, a video, dance, and visual art project, presented in Ipswich and Gloucester in 2015.
